Weather Keeps Entries Down

The snows of February were in full force Saturday night to keep entries down to 56 for the Sunday tournament at Pine Bowling Center in Pocatello.

But that didn't stop the those who showed up from bowling some great games! Ben Fulton of Ogden, Utah rolled out 11 strikes in a row during the one-game match play for a super 290 game. Jeff Foster of Taylorsville, Utah, and Charlie Hardin of Meridian, Idaho both weighed in with great games of 280.

Ed Hodges of Missoula, Montana, just coming off a shoulder injury which has kept him out of our tournaments for a while started out with a bang by posting a 1068 five-game series in qualifying then posting a super 507 in the two-game rolloff.

Fulton came out on top, however, as he rolled through the qualifying with a 1056, dispatching Gene Giesbrecht of Pocatello, Idaho in the two-game rolloff and Den Fernandez of Taylorsville, Utah, in the one-game rolloff to find himself top seed going into the stepladder finals. He had only to beat Lynn Larsen of Blackfoot, Idaho, who had already beat Don Robinson of Boise, Idaho and Charlie Hardin of Meridian, Idaho to get to the final match, which Ben won with ease for his first championship. See the February tournament results.

In the STORM Bowling Ball raffle, the Eraser PBT  was won by Ric Flores of Clearfield, Utah, Jerry Jones of Pocatello, Idaho won the STORM Bowling Bag and Ed Shelton of Idaho Falls took home the boobie prize.
