Bob Ross
Memorial Tournament
In
the first annual Bob Ross Memorial tournament, recognizing Charter Member Bob
Ross who passed away in 2004, it was Glenn Hauptman who left his mark on
the SISBA tournament.
Glenn, who is our
Eastern Geezer, came all the way from Cheektowaga, New York (just outside of
Buffalo) to dominate the tournament held at Pine Bowling Center in Pocatello,
Idaho. He qualified with an 1162 score - the only score in the 1100s - and held
the lead position throughout the tournament to win the top prize. Rod and
Rick Ross, the sons of Bob Ross were on hand to present the first prize
check. See Tournament Results.
Rick is from
Pocatello, but Rod, is the Junior Team USA head coach and owns a pro shop in
Pacifica, California. Both participated in the tournament with Rod ending up in
the cashier's circle. Rod also was a sponsor of the tournament as Bowlers
Connection along with Best Western Cotton Tree
Inn in Pocatello.
Our next tournament
is the big draw - Desert Paradise Lanes in Elko, Nevada. Again, Stockman's
Hotel and Casino is sponsoring and offering attractive room rates. They have
remodeled and are offering the rooms for $25 to $32 per night. The toll-free
number for the Stockman's is 800-648-2345. Be sure to tell them you are
with the SISBA tournament to get the rate.
This year's
sponsors for the tournament include the Stockman's Hotel and Casino as
well as Wright Motor Company, Eagle Eye Embroidery, and Swire
Coca-Cola. So be sure the make your way to Elko to win your portion of the
prize money. Go to Entry Form
