The March 2002 tournament found SISBA back in Utah after a three year hiatus. And, as with previous Utah tournaments, turnout was rather low - only 42 entries. But the scores were impressive: four participants scored over 1100 with Don Winter, of Kearns, Utah, tickling the 1200 mark with an 1199 score. That was top for the second squad, John Bertolina of Henderson, Nevada, was in front on the first squad with 1106. Chuck Reinbold, Jackson, Wyoming, had 1158, and Willie Hainsworth, Idaho Falls, Idaho, had 1144. With the low attendance came the prospect of having to cut the qualifying field to 10, but with the added money by Musgrove Family Bowl, it was decided to go ahead and cut to the top 14 and pay off the prize list for 49 entries. This way more would be in the roll-offs. There was enough tickets for the STORM ball sold to pay the Super Seniors game and series out of the money, also. By the way, Willie Hainsworth won the STORM ball in the drawing. There is only one more tournament left in the SISBA season: Bowladrome, Ltd. in Twin Falls, Idaho. If you have only one or two squads left to qualify for the Grand Finals - here's your chance to participate. In the Grand Finals, everyone gets a prize check back! The STORM 300 Game Pot continues to grow and will have $1108 for the April tournament! Check out last year's prize list to see how much everyone got back. We expect this year's prizes to be as good if not better. THOSE NEEDING TWO SQUADS: Don Bruch, Tom Henry, Con Honstein, Doug Howey, Sylvia Jensen, Mike McCarthy, Jodie McDonald, Mark McDonald, Wes Mills, Darrell Shay, Orville Rupe, Lowell Thomas, Ernie Wilson. THOSE NEEDING ONE SQUAD: Ron Bass, Bill Funk, Mike Fries, Jay Gneiting, Kevin Grupa, Marty Holland, Roy Holloway, John Hoogendourn, Terry Hughes, Hal Illum, Norm Johnston, Chris Leary, Don McKay, Don Ondler, Bill Palmer, Jerry Reeve, Chuck Reinbold, Devon Rucker, Brian Runz, Jim Simpson, Jim Spoklie, Garry Thomas, David Thompson. REMEMBER: It takes six entries to qualify for the year-end awards! We would like to thank the staff of Musgrove Family Lanes for their great hospitality, and to the management who generously added money to the SISBA prize fund! SO!! Who's Winning the Pots?
